Moot Yang Gunya Festival - Information

The Moot Yang Gunya Festival is a yearly event held in the small township of Mundulla. Every year during the first weekend of March around 4000 people flock to the town to enjoy the amazing sights and sounds of the country show. The Festival is held over three days starting Saturday 3rd March 2012 and features many unique events.

Saturday marks is the official start of the show, with plenty to see and do. The festival hosts the annual Stockman's Challenge. All day Saturday the horses are put through their paces, and Motocross demonstrations are held throughout the day, as well as all the usual events/competitions you would expect to see at a country show. In the hall, just a short walk away is a great indoor show with hosts of prizes to be won (see competition tab). Along the way see the display of scarecrows created by the school children and the Farmer Scape where 28 farmer personalities are depicted. Also all day free entertainment on the outdoor stage including Rendevous with Bill & Sue.

Saturday night the ground lights up with some of the usual events, Team Challenge, Gravel Shovelling and more...


The Moot Yang Gunya Bunyip

Sunday starts with the Blessing of the Horse at 7:45am on the main oval, followed by an entire day of show jumping, dressage and harness events.

In 2012 we also have a Vintage Machinery Display, Prime Lamb Competition, Giant Pumpkin Competition, Yard Dog Competition, Ute Muster, Indoor and Outdoor Trade sites, Camel & Clydesdale/Heavy Horses on display, and Activities for the kids including Bungee Trampoline.
